Storage of non Freeport goods by local enterprises

Local enterprises or Export enterprises operating under the Industrial Expansion Act can avail themselves of the warehousing facilities of the third party Freeport Developers. Pursuant to section 7 (3) (a) (i)(B) of the Freeport Act 2004, third party Freeport Developers are authorized to provide their warehousing facilities for the storage of goods by an Export enterprise or to a local enterprise. These enterprises need to hold a valid authorisation for the storage of goods issued by the Board of Investment.

The following types of goods can be stored under this autorisation:

1. Storage of Duty paid or Locally produced or manufactured goods

2. Storage of goods by EPZ companies

3. Storage of goods by Clearing and Forwarding agents

4. Storage of goods under the regime of suspended duty and taxes
