Textile Hub

With the rapid development of Export Processing Zones in regional countries (Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, …) and the need for the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Mauritius to review their supply chain management, the Mauritius Freeport is today the logistics hub in the Indian Ocean for the storage and supply of raw materials to these EPZ companies and for the marketing of finished products.

Processing Activities

Minor processing and simple assembly activities represent value-added activities which are being encouraged in the Mauritius Freeport. Such processing activities bring significant value to the Freeport in terms of FDI, job creation and transfer of technology.
